Regardless of international aid, Poles are massively involved in providing help to their neighbors from Ukraine. There are fundraisings and raisings of things organized. Numerous volunteers work at the border to help find shelter and provide the most needed help.

Many drivers transport women and children deep into the country for free. Thousands of people welcome Ukrainians in their homes. In Krynica, the aid operation is carried out by the local Polish-Ukrainian organization “Brotherhood”. On a daily basis, foundation organized a cultural exchange between the two countries, now it helps to escape from a war-torn country and organizes the stay of Ukrainians in Krynica-Zdrój. Accommodation is provided, among others, by numerous hotels in Krynica-Zdrój. The first was Renaissance apartments, but next hotels has joined too. Certainly, many places will be needed, as more groups of refugees continue to find their way to Krynica-Zdrój. The President of Ukraine, Volodymir Żełeński, thanked Poles for helping Ukraine.
